GLENN GERS has been a working screenwriter for over 20 years, with credits including FRACTURE and MAD MONEY. His script for Z, a near-future re-imagining of Zorro co-written with director Jonas Cuaron, is currently in pre-production. His work on television includes 10 episodes and 3 seasons on the staff of Nickelodeon's INSTANT MOM, and the Showtime Original Movie OFF SEASON, which was nominated for a WGA Award and won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Children's Special.
In 2000 he wrote, directed and edited an ultra-low-budget independent feature, THE ACCOUNTANT, which was an official selection of the Atlanta Film Festival, and won the Discovery Award/Grand Prize at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. His second ultra-low-budget indie feature as writer/director was DISFIGURED, the story an unexpected friendship between two women: one obese, the other anorexic. It was an official selection at six film festivals, winning the Grand Jury Prize at the deadCENTER Film Festival. DISFIGURED was nominated as “Best Picture - Mental Health” by the PRISM Awards, and the Women’s Film Critic’s Circle created a special award to honor the lead actress, Deidra Edwards. It opened in New York in July 2008, and was released on DVD by Cinema Libre Studio.
In 2013, Gers wrote PHANTOM PAIN, an Audible.com half-hour original audiobook spinoff from the series HOMELAND, read by Damien Lewis.
LIKE.SHARE.FOLLOW, a romantic thriller he wrote and directed, was produced by Blumhouse & Divide/Conquer and premiered on Cinemax in the fall of 2017.
